I played in my first OTB tournament this weekend. Even though I didn’t win any games, it was still a great experience!
I had some good longer training games leading up to the tournament, including a few wins against the 1500 Maia bot.
I continued my regular tactics training on Chessable. Even though I did not add any new tactics, I was surprised that I still had lots to study each day.
I was pretty excited/nervous going into the tournament and at the tournament. I think I was stressed most of the week just thinking about it because after my last game on Sunday I just felt the tension ease for the first time in days.
Now that the tournament is done, I’m going to dive into ChessMood and see how it goes. I have a introductory call this week with a GM from the ChessMood team to help me set up a study plan.
At the tournament, I realized I do not like the positions I usually get into with the openings I play. I think it is time to start with some new openings, which is also something that ChessMood is focused on.
