What went well?
- Started “No Blitz November” (which I made up). Seemed to catch on when I tweeted about it (see below)!
- I had a better streak for a few days, winning 5 30-minute games in a row over 3 days. I seem to do well when I have a set routine.
- I made a list of my learning priorities, and stuck to that when I was looking for things to do. I was tempted to buy new books or Chessable courses, but I refrained until I work down my list.
- I finished the book Pound the Stone, which was similar but a little better than Chop Wood, Carry Water. Made me really think about loving the process vs the outcome of chess.
What could have gone better?
- When I played at odd times (later in the evening, early mornings) I did not do so well.
What will I try next?
- I wonder how I can improve my focus and concentration during games. Meditation?
